Our Stones

MADE Diamonds are constructed from a high grade, purpose built core onto which real man-made diamond is built. It is this construction that gives our stones the perfect balance of brilliance and fire which makes them practically indistinguishable from natural diamonds. MADE Diamonds are singly refractive which means they perfectly mimic a natural diamonds crystal structure (face-centred-cubic) resulting in the overall appearance of a fine natural diamond.

The outer layer of man-made diamond is built onto the core, which creates a stone that has a surface hardness of 9.6 on the Mohs scale, but without many of the impurities and flaws inevitably found in natural earth mined diamonds. The chemical composition of the outer layer has an 85% SP3 content (diamond bonds) which are chemically bonded at a molecular level onto the core.

​Our stones have been shown to exhibit the same intense spike at the same frequency shown by an earth mined diamond during Raman Microspectroscopy testing, which is down to the fact that both MADE Diamonds and natural diamonds contain SP3 carbon (diamond bonds).

MADE Diamonds are constructed with real man-made diamond particles being chemically bonded to the core at a molecular level, so they won't fade or lose their fire. Under normal conditions they will perform day-to-day just like real earth mined diamonds because they have the same non-stick, non-porous surface, meaning they won't degrade over time.

We have decades of experience working with all kinds of stones so we know what we’re talking about far more than most new companies now operating in this space. Our natural diamond alternative is constructed using real man man diamond, but the difference between ours and a pure man made diamond is that with our stones, real man made diamond is built onto a purpose built non-diamond core. It's a more efficient technology that allows the consistent creation of exquisite quality stones every time because the quality of each stone can be regulated to a much higher degree than is possible with other technologies. 

Because our stones are not pure diamond they do not test positive as a diamond. However the only time when you need to remember this is if you take your ring to a jeweller for resizing or any other work (remember though that we offer one completely free resizing with every ring and if there are any other works required we can normally assist directly). Day-to-day though your MADE Diamonds stone will perform just like a pure diamond. Even pure diamonds are susceptible to damage though, so just as with any stone-set rings we advise removing your ring when completing household chores or strenuous activities.
 
MADE Diamonds fall into the category of simulated man made diamonds or diamond hybrids because they combine real man made diamond with a non-diamond core. Our stones are classed as hybrids because they are a mixture of simulant and real synthetic diamond. Man made, lab created, synthetic diamond is built onto the outside of a purpose built core stone. This process is currently a far more cost effective way to create a top quality gemstone that provides the same visual appearance as a diamond because the outside of the stone is in fact made of real man made diamond.
