What made you seek out a lab created diamond?
I had the desire to get my partner a really luxurious stone, while at the same time not jeopardising our chances at owning a home. At the same time, the environmental impact of natural stones, as well as the ridiculous mark-ups at retail was not something I was comfortable with, so a lab-created stone seemed like an obvious choice.
What was your biggest apprehension before purchasing and should you have been worried?
Two things - how to ensure the quality and aesthetic beauty of the stone was on par with natural one, and how my partner would perceive the purchase. I have a background in materials science and solid state physics, so Steve's frank and honest description of the technology, as well as the results from Raman spectroscopy helped with any concerns on quality. And as soon as I saw the stones Steve showed me in person, my concerns about beauty immediately melted away. They are simply stunning. I was also very up front with my partner about the nature of the stone when I proposed, and although we haven't revealed it to any of our friends or family, we are both very impressed with the ring.
How do you/your partner feel about your/your partner’s MADE Diamonds Engagement Ring?
She loves it! She has never been a very ostentatious person, nor did she ever express the need for a big or luxurious stone, but she can't help but show it off a little.
If you were to recommend MADE Diamonds to your best friend, what would you say?
It looks just like a natural diamond, is a fraction of the price, and is much better for the environment.

Lab made diamonds are ethical, can't say the same for natural diamonds.

The design. Steve and I spent some time going over the details such as stone sizes. I was mostly concerned with the integrity of the design.

We went for a bespoke design so we knew there was no money back guarantee if we didn't like it. Biggest apprehension before buying was whether the item would be legitimate, as I hadn't heard of man made diamonds before, I didn't know it was possible.

What made you seek out a lab created diamond?
Aside from the ecological concerns referred to by others, the diamond industry from my own research doesn't inspire confidence. Plus a lab created diamond appealed strongly to my scientific sensibilities.
What was your biggest apprehension before purchasing and should you have been worried?
My biggest apprehension was around the legitimacy of the company. I couldn't find any reviews or reference to them on Companies House. However, after speaking to Steve I was reassured. He even went as far as adding a review section to the site soon after my conversation with him. I was also concerned about how my partner would react to me purchasing a lab created diamond.

I was really pleased. I’d bought a mined diamond on the internet prior to this one and had not been that impressed but this one was perfect, a great design. My partner absolutely loved it, more so because the choice of a lab created diamond resonated with me.

Quality product, excellent service and great value. However, I wouldn't recommend them to my best friend as that would potentially make my fiancé’s ring less unique!

There was no way I could bring myself to buy a natural diamond and I wanted to find an alternative. A friend told me about man made diamonds and I started looking at the options.
