Which Style is Right for Your Loved One... Exploring Our Current Range

14/05/2014

We do things a little differently at MADE Diamonds. You won't find the usual hundreds of different mass produced ring designs. We offer just 3 limited edition designs at any one time. Our designs are lovingly hand crafted and made-to-order to your exact specification. Each design caters for a different kind of taste and style.

The Aston is a classic design often referred to a "Tiffany"  style. It is a six claw minimalist mount that allows you to view the entire profile of the stone.

Whilst being extremely sturdy and strong, the design is delicate and very suitable for anyone looking for a slightly more dainty and delicate feel. A true classic.

The Fairfax design utilises a stunning four claw mount which offers a full view of the entire profile of the stone. The split shank offers a full and substantial look that is perfect for anyone looking for a more full-bodied feel.

The Fairfax is a stunning design that has is perfect for any woman who prefers her jewellery to be slightly more significant.

The Hampton is our most intricate and complex design, with tiny hearts creating the base of the six claw mount.

The split shank on the shoulders of the ring are far more dainty than those found on the Fairfax design, and they feature a delicate circular feature within each shank.

The Hampton is the perfect way to show your love for your partner and remind them of it every day for the rest of your lives together.

Testimonial Time

10/05/2014

Customer testimonials have become pretty important to many people buying any kind of product. It helps reassure us and confirm that a product is for us. At the moment we don't have a testimonials page so we're going to create one! One of the difficulties is that many of our customers are men buying the ring for their partner, and it's often a surprise. Sometimes the engagement ring is purchased well before it is intended to be given, so it can be a challenge to get a testimonial from either the man or woman potentially months down the line.

If you've been a customer of ours and would like to share your testimonial, even if it's just a few words, we would really appreciate if you could find it in your heart to jot down something that can be used on our site. We of course hope you are very happy with your engagement ring so if you could send us a few words about your ring or your experience, it will help other potential customers have faith in us.

If you would like to submit a testimonial please email it to: [email protected]

Thank you as always to all our lovely customers and thanks in advance for any testimonials!

How to Get an Idea Like MADE Diamonds to Spread

08/05/2014

As we strive to spread the word about MADE Diamonds Engagement Rings we face two prominent challenges: Awareness and Acceptance.

In order to build awareness we can shout about our product all we want, but unless our offering is truly remarkable our brand will not spread and grow. By remarkable, we mean being good enough, different enough and most of all interesting enough to be remarked about. This is how word of mouth spreads. We hope that what we are doing offers an interesting enough concept and story for people to feel the urge to talk about us.

The second obstacle is acceptance. The idea of a genuine alternative that live up to the qualities of a natural diamond is not easy for everyone to embrace. Luckily we realise that there is little chance of us converting the masses, so for now we are content to serve the few men and women who seek us out. Through building trust and respect with these people we can build acceptance and trust, and ultimately we hope they will spread the word.

Whether you're a customer or just intrigued by the concept of what we're doing we really hope you find it in your heart to help us spread the word, and we'll keep striving to be remarkable.

Don't Follow the Crowd!

06/05/2014

The biggest barrier to buying a natural diamond alternative engagement ring for most people often seems to be the social pressure to buy a natural diamond. But giving into social pressure cannot only be harmful, it is also just downright sad. Why not be original and invest in a ring that you can really be proud of and one which embodies your values?

Above anything else, be original! Don't follow the crowd.

Following the crows is the easy option. It's the safe route. But it shows character and strength not to follow the crowd, to be individual and to opt for something that represents your values. Being a trend setter rather than a trend follower is so much more attractive!

The Differences Between the Many Diamond Alternatives Available for Engagement Rings

15/04/2014

If you have taken the decision to opt for a non-diamond engagement ring, firstly congratulations on your decision! You should feel proud that, even with the immense social pressures to do so, you are denying to take part in the very harmful natural diamond market, which demonstrates great integrity and character on your part.

You would think that once you've made that decision it'd be plain sailing... but unfortunately we know only too well this can be just the beginning of a difficult and sometimes confusing task of selecting the right diamond alternative. There are many factors to consider and it's worth doing your research. After all it is an incredibly important purchase and you must get it right!

For that reason we'd like to help by explaining about what some of your main options are going to be. Now of course we are biased and we're going to favour our very own MADE Diamonds over any other option but everybody's needs and wants will differ so we will try to run through the options openly and truthfully for you to be able to make up your own mind on the best diamond alternative to suit you. There are three main categories...

The first option is a "real" and pure man made diamond. These are 100% pure diamonds created in a lab under exactly the same conditions that a natural diamond is formed. The technology for this option is not really fully advanced and the ability of the process to produce good quality diamonds, especially of any decent size, is very minimal. The diamonds produced using this technique are often coloured (or fancy) diamonds rather than traditional colourless stones. The price of these pure lab created stones are around the same as a natural diamond, so this is a big stumbling block for this technology. By all means they offer a superb diamond alternative if you can find a good quality stone, but the money factor needs to be lower concern if you opt for this option as you will be paying prices similar to comparable quality natural mined diamonds.

The next option we'll look at are at the opposite end of the spectrum. These are effectively cubic zirconia in disguise. These are stones billed as plausible diamond alternatives but that do not compare in any way to real diamonds. These are the stones that can be purchase from companies like Carat, Diamond Nexus and other relatively well known companies. The stones are definitely sold as something more than plain old cubic zirconia, however independent reports have been found to show that is exactly what they are. The advantage of these stones is that they are by far the cheapest alternative. You'll get a half decent quality engagement ring for around the £200-£300 mark. Which sounds great but don't forget, this is massively overpaying for what you are actually buying. Unfortunately cubic zirconia stones do not have a realistic appearance as diamond and they can be spotted as a face from miles off even by an untrained eye. It is also the case that they will degrade drastically over time. They will not maintain their lustre or sparkle and will dull when worn even moderately. Ok, we've given this category a hard time, but if price is by far your number one priority they offer a great option... but as they say, you get what you pay for!

The final option is the category of hybrid diamonds that MADE Diamonds fall into (although there are some key differences within this category). MADE Diamonds are constructed in a lab from a high grade crystal core which is then infused with layers of man made REAL diamond particles. This outer layer of real diamond which is chemically bonded to the core makes MADE Diamonds visually identical to the finest quality, real, natural, mined diamonds. This outer layer also acts just like a natural diamond in that it is non-porous and extremely durable. If treated with the same care as a diamond it will not degrade or discolour at all over time. So quality wise, you would not know a MADE Diamond was not a fine quality natural diamond. Then there is price to consider. MADE Diamonds offer significantly better value than natural diamonds. It's easiest to compare an 18K White Gold ring with a 1 carat diamond of the finest quality. For a natural diamond you'd be looking at 14-15 thousand pounds. For a MADE Diamonds Engagement Ring it would be just over 1 thousand!

So we'll admit again, it's difficult for us to be unbiased. As we stated,  the other two options are real possibilities depending on your priorities. But we do truly believe that MADE Diamonds offer the best value proposition and the best diamond alternative to suit most men looking for a diamond alternative engagement ring.
