MADE Diamonds are guaranteed to come in a D to F in colour, VVS1 to VS2 in clarity and rate a 1 to 2 on the AGS cutting scale or otherwise described as an excellent to very good cut. The index of refraction of an earth mined diamond is 2.42 and the fire light dispersion is 0.044. Because MADE Diamonds have an outer layer of infused diamond, its index of refraction (2.24 and Fire/light dispersion (0.041) is nearly identical to that of a natural diamond giving our stone's tested optical properties closer to an earth mined diamond than any other simulant being produced today.

MADE Diamonds are moderately harder than a Ruby or Sapphire and considerably harder than an Emerald and twice as hard as a Cubic Zirconium (CZ). They’re technically not quite as hard as a natural diamond, but they are just as durable so will perform just as a mined diamond would when being worn in a ring.

There are so many retailers offering Cubic Zirconia (CZ) as a realistic alternative to diamonds. Regardless of their claims CZ has a maximum hardness of 8.5. The Mohs scale is ordinal meaning the actual hardness increases exponentially. In the end, MADE Diamonds are nearly twice as hard and more durable than CZ. 

The problem with Cubic Zirconium stones is that they very clearly (even to the untrained eye) look fake and they simply won't last. Over time they become discoloured and degrade. MADE Diamonds look exactly the same as real diamonds. They will last a lifetime and they will never discolour.
